Hospital food sucks. My sister was undergoing a procedure at a top hospital in Boston but the food they served left a lot to be desired. I discovered that one of Phinix’s services is delivery to patients at hospitals. During the week-long stay, I would personally receive the meals and bring them up to my sister’s bed. I was very impressed with the food, compostable packaging and the detail of macro nutrients on the plates. My sister needed food low on sugar and the HealthPoint55 brand was excellent fit – and it was gluten free. I told the hospital they should get rid of their cafeteria and bring in someone like Phinix.

My husband had a bariatric procedure (gastric bypass) and the dietitian prescribed a list of foods that he should be eating to recover his stomach while at home. I found Phinix online and tried them out. They had lean, protein rich plates that were low on salt and fats. You cannot eat high fat foods while you are recovering - regular takeouts are full of fats and sugars and if my husband ate that it would cause a dumping syndrome. My favorite is their purple sweet potatoes – they boil and mash it in a way to reduce the sugar content. I am very pleased with the variety of options on their website.
